HELP!! HOW DO I GO ENDURANCE RACING - A FIRST TIMERS GUIDE

1. Very first thing is to get an ACU licence, the ACU is the governing body of motorsport in the UK

You will have to go on an ACU training course at the ACU headquarters in Rugby, or with Hottrax at selected venues. The ACU run one most Mondays. This costs £50 and you can download the application form here. DOWNLOAD COURSE FORM. Once you have done the course you need to prove you can ride a motorcycle:

To obtain your Competition Licence you must also prove your competence to ride a motorcycle. You can do this in one of the following ways:-
• Obtain a certificate of competence from an ACU recognised track-based training school and attach this to your licence application form.
• If you hold a valid DVLA Class A driving licence or valid CBT Certificate attach a photocopy of this to your licence application form.
• If you have held an ACU Competition Licence for a minimum of one year for any off-road discipline attach a photocopy of this, along with a result sheet from a race, to your licence application form.

2. You may then need to get an eye test and a medical, full details are on the LICENCE APPLICATION FORM. Download from here.

3. Complete your ACU Licence Application Form with all of the relevant details and payments

4. You must join a racing club to have the ACU Licence Application Form stamped and signed. You may join our club for £25 per rider. Send the HMRC MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM along with the payment and your ACU Licence Application Form

! YOU MUST ENCLOSE A STAMPED AND ADDRESSED ENVELOPE TO THE ACU AND A STAMPED AND SELF ADDRESSED A5 ENVELOPE TO HMRC AS WELL !

5. If you have enclosed the correct payments and forms we will forward your application to the ACU for you, you will get your licence directly from the ACU in due course. HMRC will then send you your membership card and other details of your membership

You can now race for 1 year, your membership and licence will need to be renewed each year
