26th September 2007 RETURN TO TOP HMRC 2008

Yes there will definately be a HMRC Endurance Championship in 2008!

Ok now we have established that I can confirm that we are writing the Class structure and 2008 regulations at this moment and have been discussing it for the last few weeks with some of the circuits.

For now the class structure will change slightly, we will release this at Silverstone on 6th October, there will be a document available to all team managers. This document is all but confirmed but if you have any real problems with its content please let us know.

There will probably be a Junior 2hr Tag Endurance Championship, a Senior 6hr Endurance Championship and a National 6hr Championship.

The rules and regulations for 2008 will follow shortly after and will be released by mid October. This should give you plenty of time to sort out the bikes and classes you would want to enter for 2008.

I am looking to do a minimum of 5 rounds, maybe 6 in 2008. I cannot confirm anything at the moment but Anglesey is available to us as is Silverstone. Others I am looking into is Snetterton, Cadwell Park, Brands Indy, Mallory Park, Knockhill, Donington Park, Oulton Park.
We probably will not get Donington or Oulton but I will ask.

Circuits we will not be running at in 2008 are as follows

Anything outside of the UK
Croft - Nothing available
Pembrey (Unless nothing much else is available)
Rockingham (Still no circuit licence from the ACU)

Most of these will be a 2 day format with a Trackday on the preceding day. Some will be 1 day events due to cost.

Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know that we are on the case for next year, we just need to get more National 6 hour teams on the grid, I have a feeling that the Junior 2hr Tag Championship may be full at every round next year.

Thanks for everyones support and lets have a chat at Silverstone

Silverstone Final Instructions

Hi All

I would like to thank everyone who as entered the race on 6th October, we have a busy grid and have around 40 starters at the moment. Some of these are just doing the 2 hour race and we have 4 teams carrying on to do the Junior 6 hour so good luck to them.

Should make for an interesting start anyway, 40 bikes into Copse, cant wait and very excited !!

I am still waiting for confirmations from some teams but I dont think I can wait any longer for them. These can have the garages at the end of the pit lane when I get the entries.

I am posting out the final instructions, garage allocations, passes etc on Wednesday 27th September to those teams that are all paid up and enetred. If you dont get a letter by Monday next week then you are not entered, please call me if you need to.

Lets hope for a great final as there are a few Championships to decide.

See you there

Cheers

30th August 2007 RETURN TO TOP Silverstone 6 hour Junior Endurance

We have added an extension to the Junior 2 hour race enabling teams to run for 6 hours along with the National teams. The following will apply,

1. Normal JTE regulations apply with the following coming into effect after the 2 hour mark.

a. Section 8 - Tyre changes are allowed
b. Section 10.2 - Each rider session cannot exceed 45 minutes and each rider must have a 30 minute break
c. JTE teams will be allocated a garage space with a National team to act as a mentor and give pit support during the race.
d. JTE competitors who have entered the 6 hour event will be classified after 2 hours but continue to race, Championship points will be awarded as normal.
e. Providing sufficient entries are received as detailled in the supplementary instructions there will be an overall prize fund of £900, 1st £500, 2nd £250 and 3rd £150. (Not per class but overall)
f. Teams enetring the Junior 6 hour race may use their registration fee of £50 per event entered (excluding Knockhill) against the entry fee. If you have done all of our events and you enter the 6 hour Junior event you may deduct £250 from the entry fee totalling £700 instead of £950 for this event. This offer is only for Junior teams entering the 6 hour Junior Endurance, National and 2 hour teams will recieve their registration fees back in December 2007 based on events entered. (£50 per event entered)

Silverstone is the finale event and an ideal opportunity for Junior competitors to sample the National event with assistance from experienced National teams.

As we will be starting all 3 races together the grid will fill up quickley and I anticipate around 45 entries for this one.

I will be in Catalunya at the end of September and need to get everything sorted very soon after the closing date of 15th September.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

26th July 2007 RETURN TO TOP Pembrey Results Change

A problem occured with the timing loop inserted into the tarmac at Pembrey. The problem occurred at approximately 14.00pm when the timekeepers experienced a fault with the timing loop on the start/finish. This basically increased the noise level which significantly reduces the signal from the transponders. Whilst Steve located and rectified this fault Gary had to physically watch and confirm every passing of the start / finish. Only a handful of passings were not recorded in a period of 5 minutes which was the time taken for Steve to rectify the loop fault. On that basis manual laps are added to correct this problem.

Amended time sheets have now been uploaded to our web site and the corrections made. Luckily the results for the National 6hr Endurance are not affected.

There was also a problem with the transponder fitment to Go Fast Racings machine resulting in a loss of time recorded. This has been amended and the new reult sheet is now uploaded. This means that Go Fast Racing move up the results table as shown.

We and Sports Timing Services appologise for the inconvienience to teams but the timing loop fault has now been reported by us, and other clubs some weeks ago as it turns out, as a fault and yet Pembrey have seen fit to ignore it.

10th May 2007 RETURN TO TOP Silverstone Change to 1 day meeting Silverstone on 6th and 7th October has now been changed to a 1 day meeting on Saturday 6th October. The National and Junior Championship races will again start together as at Knockhill.
10th May 2007 RETURN TO TOP Pembrey and Snetterton Entries Open Entries are now open for Pembrey and Snetterton. The Pembrey round will also include an 18 lap open solo race on Sunday 22nd July. The entry fee for this will be £75
19th April 2007 RETURN TO TOP Knockhill Schedule Change

The Knockhill event will now be run totally on the Saturday. The Friday will be available for practice run by Knockhill circuit. Call them on 01383 723337 to book and for more information.

Download the new schedule here, all of the final instructions will be going out on Monday 23rd April.

Some rule changes and clarifications have been announced today, download them here

5th April 2007 RETURN TO TOP Knockhill Entries now close on 20th April We are now a lot more efficient in the office and can extend the closing date for entries to 20th April for Knockhill. Please try to get them in before that though as we have a lot to get through.
28th March 2007 RETURN TO TOP Change in Snetterton Schedule

As we have cancelled the MotoGrande we have some time spare and will now be running a Track Day on Sunday morning from 9am - 1pm. The Race meeting will start at 13.40 on Sunday 8th April and continue through Monday as planned. The Track day will be 3 groups each having 4 sessions each. If teams or riders on our events would like to book then the following applies.

National Endurance Teams - Free Of Charge - Must pre book - 1 bike and up to 3 riders in Advanced Group only. Other groups chargeable at £45

Junior Endurance Teams - £45 for 4 Advanced sessions - 1 bike and rider

Please remember this is a Track Day so no timing is allowed. A revised schedule can be downloaded on the event calendar page for the meeting.

28th March 2007 RETURN TO TOP

MotoGrande Series Cancelled We have cancelled the MotoGrande series for a number of reasons, with the cancellation of Rockingham and very low entries for Snetterton it is just not viable to run this series this year. Those few that have entered the series will get a full refund on their entry fee. This will be enclosed together with a letter explaining the situation early next week. We are sorry to have to do this but just cannot afford to run a race with low entries.
24th March 2007 RETURN TO TOP Rockingham Event Cancelled The Rockingham event has been cancelled after a circuit inspection by the ACU last week. The ACU were considering a change to the circuit layout involving racing through part of the pit lane. In our opinion this could put pit crew and timekeepers lives in danger and we have decided not to pursue the licence application.
22nd March 2007 RETURN TO TOP Knockhill Testing Details

Thursday Evening 26th April - 5pm-8pm £50 pre booked or £60 on the day
Friday Morning 27th April - 8.30am - 1pm £60 pre booked or £70 on the day

Practice and Qualifying for the meeting starts at 2pm on Friday 27th April. The afternoon is included in your entry fee

Call the circuit to book the practice, they have made a lot of effort arranging this for us, lets not make me look silly and book up, you will need the practice, trust me I know.

Novice licence information for entrance into the National Endurance Championships

I have had a few enquires about novice riders entering the National series. It seems that some people want to run one bike but cant because the Junior series only allows 2 bikes as a minimum while the National series does not allow Novice riders to compete.

The idea was to keep the Novices out of the National series but I do recognize that some Novice riders may well be very fast while others may not be.

To remedy this we are introducing the following rule

A novice licence holder may enter the National series providing they can meet one of these options.
1. They can prove a lap time at one of the circuits we race at in 2007 as being within 125% of a time set by HMRC.
Say a fast lap time at Snetterton was 1m 10s, 125% of that is 1m 27.5s. If you are within that then you can race by providing proof.
2. Come along to one of our Trackdays in February, March or April and we will put you with an instructor for a session and assess your race ability, if the instructor thinks you would be capable you can enter the National series. Our Trackdays are listed at www.hottrax.co.uk
3. Anything else you can do to prove that you are not too slow will be looked at and a decision made. The decision of the club will be final.

Please email us if you require any further clarification

Fuel Rig Deal From Demon Tweeks

TankStand

We have struck a deal with Demon Tweeks to supply the new Acerbis fuel dump system at a discounted rate for HMRC members.

The fuel rig can be purchased from Demon Tweeks at £210 instead of £280. The stand is also available at £26. When you call mention HMRC to get the discount.

This system is great value and recommended by HMRC for all classes and Championships next year. Don't forget once you have one it will retain most of its value if you want to sell it on in the future.

I am assured that it will work with most standard fuel caps but to get the best out of it you may wish to change the cap in your tank.

It will dispense fuel at a rate of 12 litres in 8 seconds. For a full spec please refer to the Demon Tweeks web site www.demon-tweeks.co.uk. The new system is not yet on their site but will be soon.
