IMPORTANT - CADWELL PARK ENDURANCE RACE
The closing date for this event is Friday 15th August.
National/Senior Endurance
Pit box allocations in the bottom pit lane will be done over this weekend to those National/Senior teams who have entered before the closing date. If you have not entered the meeting by then you may not receive a pit box at all and will have to run your race from the paddock, a serious disadvantage.
We have spared no expense to have a marquee erected with 19 pit boxes of 10 feet wide by 20 feet deep. Teams will need to be in the pit boxes and all vehicles and excess equipment removed from the pit lane by 8.30am on Saturday morning. Strict controls will be in place for personel movements to and from the pit lane to the main paddock. The schedule you will receive at the weekend will detail these procedures
National/Senior/Junior Endurance
The schedule, setup and equipment transfer procedures will be available to teams who have entered the meeting by email only. I will be sending these out over the weekend after the closing date. All Junior teams will be based in the main paddock and will practice and qualify from there, teams will move to the pit lane for their race only and will be allocated an area in front of the National/Senior pit boxes.
I will also be applying the 10% surcharge to all late entries. I have not taken this option up yet this year but the lack of prior entries and the logistics of this meeting are forcing my hand. If you enter after the closing date please ensure you add the 10% to your payment or your entry will be returned.

Bulletin 2008 – 2
JUNIOR TAG ENDURANCE - INITIAL CHANGEOVER
Following successful trial changes to the initial changeover timings the first changeover is extended to a maximum of 35 minutes – subsequent changes must be completed within a maximum of 30 minutes as normal.
JUNIOR TAG ENDURANCE TYRE REGULATION AMENDMENT
The current regulation has proved to be successful in providing both competitive racing and introducing teams to the importance of strategy and race planning, an essential element in Endurance racing.
The changing weather at Pembrey produced race conditions which tested riders and team management to the extreme but resulted in some competitors being unable to complete the race on one set of tyres.
Following the Pembrey event the Junior Tag Endurance tyre regulation has been appraised and amended taking into account rider safety, costs and the 3 hour races proposed later this season, as such the following amendment will take immediate effect and remain in force for the duration of the 2008 season:
Rule 9 of the 2008 HMRC Tag Sporting Regulations will now read:-
9. TYRES
- Tyre changes are allowed
- Treaded and full wets are allowed. The tread pattern must be made exclusively by the manufacturer when manufacturing the tyre.
- Tyre warmers are permitted in the paddock / garage – not in pit lane or changeover area.
- Tyre changes can only take place at rider changeover (a incoming bike cannot undergo tyre change and resume session).
HMRC would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all Junior teams on the quality and professionalism shown this season which has allowed for the above change of regulation.
Anyone with any questions regarding the above should email Peter Clifford at peter@actiforce.co.uk

BULLETIN 2008-1
National Endurance and Senior Tag Endurance
Due to the disappointing number of entries into the National and Senior Tag classes HMRC must consider a restructure of racing classes and formats in order to improve competition, overall operation and financial considerations. Some measures are intended to keep entry fees at current levels. As such:
1. Qualifying and grid positions: All National and Senior Tag competitors will qualify together and grid positions will be determined by the fastest lap by an individual rider. Grid positions are overall and not class designated. Valid from and including the Pembrey round.
2. There will be an integration of some classes to increase competition and a structure will be introduced to ensure fair and competitive racing. The National and Senior classes will still retain their individual status with points and prizes but the Overall Championship over the 7 rounds will be an amalgamation of all classes and Championships.
The National Superbike class has no entries for Pembrey so this class is to be scrapped from immediate effect. Teams competing in this class at past events will not receive further points or prizes as they have elected to compete in other ways. Existing points for these teams will be rolled into the ProSuperbike class and into the Overall National/Senior Championship. Valid from and including the Pembrey round.
- Prizes: Garlands will no longer be issued to winners from and including Pembrey. Other Trophies are unaffected.
Junior Tag Endurance
- Prizes: Garlands will no longer be issued to winners from and including Pembrey. Other Trophies are unaffected.
General Items
Start Awards
As part of our ongoing aim to provide exceptional value for money racing we are looking to increase the number of entries into the Senior Tag Endurance classes. We have recognised the additional costs relative to Senior Tag and are introducing “Start Awards” from Snetterton onwards for the remaining rounds of 2008.
“Senior Tag Start Awards” will be eligible to all teams graduating from the Junior Tag Championship and new teams entering for the first time. Start Awards are also available to existing Senior teams.
An award of £100 will be made to all Senior TAG Teams who qualify for the main race, start and complete a minimum of one full lap of the race. This will be paid by cheque on the day.
To qualify as a new team there must be no more than 1 rider in the team who has competed in previous Senior or National Championships in 2008.
Start Awards will be introduced to National Teams when entry levels reach 20 National Teams or more for an individual round. Start awards are not available to existing National Teams dropping down to Senior Endurance.
We hope that this scheme will allow Junior Tag teams to re-assess the possibility of competing in the Senior Tag Championship. Valid from and including Snetterton round 4. |

Snetterton 2/3 August - Regulation Changes
We have changed the entry forms and supplementary regulations for this meeting, the new versions are now available to download from the web site.
I have kept the 3 hour Junior event but reduced the Senior and National events back to a 6 hour race on Sunday while introducing the MotoGrande format into the weekend as well.
I have done this to improve the format and increase revenue while trying to avoid putting a track day session on in the morning. This is required due to the low entries in the National/Senior Endurance classes.
The entry fees for the Senior and National classes have been reduced while the Junior stays the same. All classes have improved track time at no extra cost and I hope that this will be appreciated and that the MotoGrande races have a good take up. I really want this to succeed and hope you will find the format interesting and tempting, tell all your mates to get entered.

ACU Licence Signatures
I have been getting a few questions about licence signatures, here are the answers
You must finish the race to qualify, the ACU handbook tells you which licence grade requires how many signatures to upgrade etc
1. Junior Endurance Race - 2 or 3 hours = 1 signature
2. Senior or National Race - less than 6 hours = 1 signature
3. Senior or National Race - 6, 8 hours or longer = 2 signatures
4. Junior, Senior or National and MotoGrande run on the same day = Only 1 signature
5. Junior, Senior or National run on 2 days, this is the complicated bit
A. Junior Race and MotoGrande on the same day = 1 signature
B. Junior Race on 1st day and MotoGrande Race on 2nd day = 2 signatures
C. Junior or MotoGrande on 1st day and Senior or National 6 hours or more on the 2nd day = 3 signatures
Basically you get at least 1 signature per day unless it is Endurance
Hope that makes sense |

Hi All
I have been getting some questions so here are some answers
1. Yes the final instructions and passes have gone out to team managers (or those whose name was on the envelope supplied, if any)
If you don't get them by Saturday 12th April email me at dave@hottrax-motorsport.co.uk
2. There are no commentators sheets this year, I suggest each team writes its own c.v. and lets us have it on the day. The commentator speaks to the teams during the day anyway.
3. Pit Lane Allocations - The Juniors allocated an area in front of the National/Senior pit boxes are not sharing the space, they are merely using the apron in front of the National/Senior awnings for the race and/or practice. These teams will base themselves in the paddock at all other times.
If we get to Anglesey and there is more room than we think then we will redo the plan.
These teams may move or share with whoever they like as long as we know where you have gone before 10am on Saturday morning so we can give out the penalties etc. I suggest these teams speak to the other teams to work out a solution themselves.
I am out of the office today (Friday) and all next week so I will only answer emails if you have more questions.
Good luck and see you on next weekend |
