Team Marshals

Marshal training is now being conducted by the ACU and we have sent letters to many people who we have on file and who we met at the NEC Motorcycle Show.

We want to ensure that we have enough marshals for the event before we actually get there.

Training is given and it is not always corner marshals we need. Other duties can include pit lane, recovery, admin etc. Allocations are given out on the day.

What is a Marshal?
Someone who is interested in Motorsport and who wants to be involved in the sport without necessarily competing.

What does a Marshal do?
Almost anything linked with the organisation and running of motor sport events, positions are given out on the day

Who can become a Marshal?
Almost anyone. As long as you are of average health all you need is enthusiasm

Are Marshals paid?
Marshalling is a hobby. All Marshals are volunteers who enjoy being part of motor sport. We do pay some expenses for track marshals.

Do you need to be specially trained?
Training is done on the day of the event and is quite basic.

Is it dangerous?
All forms of motor sport involve some danger, but our safety record is very good and we provide our own insurance to cover our members whilst on duty at motor sport events.

What duties do Marshals cover?
According to experience, the jobs include: Sector Commander, incident officer, experienced marshal (flag & incident), track marshal, spectator marshal, race administration, paddock marshal, pit marshal, startline marshal. The list is almost endless.
